Assignment# 8--Poems

The story of "The Road Not Taken" by Robert Frost is about a guy who took a walk through woods which symbolizes that he had some decisions to make in his life. However, he decided to take a different road than most people would have taken. In order to analyze this poem, readers response can be the best way to do.

Since, all of us make a decisions in our lives, regardless of big or small, we as a reader have had experienced what speaker is telling. However, depends on readers' decision making, the critics of the poem will be different. In order words,if the reader is follower and not a risk taker or very much independent person, unlike the speaker, readers understanding and attitudes toward the poem will be affected by his past experiences and situations. Therefore, readers response is the best approach to the poem.

Based on the experiences and situations that I share with this poem, my understanding of "The Road Not Taken" is that people do not like blames on them or they are so afraid of regretting things that they have done, then they will find an excuses to comfort(feel better) themselves or give them a right about. In a way that we-people have this intelligence and power of living on our own little world with full ignorance and illusions, yet we are weak selfish tiny creatures.
